01What $WOODCOIN is
A community-run charity meme coin on Robinhood Chain, an Ethereum L2 (Arbitrum Orbit, Chain ID 4663, gas token ETH). Every buy and sell carries a 5% tax — you pay it on the way in and on the way out — and it splits three ways: 2% donated to the Canadian Red Cross Wildfire Fund, 2% set aside for holders in ETH, and 1% to Coin Barrell, the launchpad partner, who have agreed to use that fee to buy $WOODCOIN back off the market and burn it. There is no presale and no VC allocation — everyone, team included, buys on the open market.
02The Relief Vault
The charity 2% accumulates in a public vault wallet on Robinhood Chain, then gets converted and donated to the Canadian Red Cross Canadian Wildfire Fund — emergency lodging, food, and support for people hit by the fires, plus longer-term recovery. Every vault movement is public on-chain, and every donation receipt is posted on the site: transaction hashes, Red Cross receipts, the lot. Receipts or it didn't happen.
03The buyback & burn
The 1% platform fee goes to Coin Barrell, the launchpad we partnered with to bring $WOODCOIN to market — covering listing, tooling, and ecosystem reach. Coin Barrell has agreed to use that fee to buy $WOODCOIN back off the open market and burn it, permanently reducing supply. Every buyback and every burn is a public on-chain transaction. This is a partner arrangement, not the charity: the relief side is the separate 2% vault.
03bHolder rewards
2% of the 5% tax is set aside for $WOODCOIN holders, to be paid in ETH from the rewards wallet on Robinhood Chain.
Status: not yet distributing. Payouts depend on custom reward hooks being built on Robinhood Chain, which is new infrastructure and still experimental. The holder share accrues in the meantime, but no automatic distribution is running today and we will not describe it as live until the first one has landed in holder wallets. We will announce that publicly when it happens.
It is funded entirely by trading volume — no new tokens are minted, and nothing is taken from the charity share. The longer you hold, the more distributions you are present for. This is a mechanical fee split, not a yield product and not a promise of profit: if volume is zero, rewards are zero. Every distribution will be a public on-chain transaction.
04The charity roadmap
Phase 1 — now. The Canadian Red Cross Wildfire Fund: direct relief for evacuees and communities in the smoke.
Phase 2 — the replant. When the flames are out, One Tree Planted's Wildfire Fund replants burn scars across the US, Canada, and beyond — roughly $1 per tree. The wood in $WOODCOIN: we replant what the fire took.
Phase 3 — community's choice. As the fund grows, holders vote on additional charities — wildfire, air, forests, and beyond.
05Team & dev wallet — said out loud, not implied
The team holds $WOODCOIN the same way you can: by buying it on the open market. There is no free founder allocation and no hidden mint. Team-held supply exists to fund development and growth — the safety map, marketing, partnerships, tooling, and the runway to keep building past the meme-coin news cycle. It is held for that purpose, not under any pledge to never sell.
Team wallets hold the same token as everyone else and benefit from the same buyback-and-burn scarcity — a market mechanism, not a promise. Team wallets can buy or sell at any time, exactly like any other holder, and nothing here should be read as a guarantee otherwise.
Team-held tokens may, at the team's discretion, be used to compensate contributors for their work, alongside map, marketing, and tooling costs. There is no fixed split, no locked contract, and no guaranteed payout tied to any role — disclosed here so it's known upfront, not discovered later. Dev tokens may be split across multiple wallets for operational reasons; all are held by the same team under the same rules.
06The free safety map
The long game isn't just a coin. It's a free, open safety map anyone can use: live wildfire zones, an Air Score showing where the air is unbreathable, and affordability scoring — built on public data from EPA AirNow, NIFC, and FEMA. July 2026 proved why it matters: smoke from Canada's fires put 100M+ Americans under air alerts and handed Milwaukee its worst air day on record, with zero local flames. The map is in development. It is an awareness tool, not an emergency service — in a life-threatening emergency, call 911 and follow official evacuation orders.
07The honest fine print
$WOODCOIN is a meme coin — not a security, investment contract, or registered charity. Nothing on this site is financial, legal, or tax advice. Token value can go to zero; only put in what you can afford to lose. $WOODCOIN is an independent community project, not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Canadian Red Cross, One Tree Planted, Robinhood Markets, or any other organization mentioned, except the stated launchpad partnership with Coin Barrell. We donate to the charities named and post the receipts — the same way anyone can.
